followers, friends and messages

every page has a follow button in its top-right corner. you need an account to follow someone, and the number next to the button is how many people follow that page.

when you follow someone and they follow you back, you're friends. unfollow either way and you aren't any more. friends lists your friends, your followers and everyone you follow, with a follow back button for anyone you haven't followed yet.

messages

friends can message each other in messages. you can't message someone who isn't your friend, and a chat goes read-only if either of you unfollows. messages can be up to 2,000 characters, and you can unsend your own.

messages are end-to-end encrypted. they're locked and unlocked in your browser, so we only ever store scrambled text, and nobody at seized.wtf can read them, staff included.

your passcode

1. 1open messages and pick a passcode, at least 8 characters.
2. 2that's it on this device. it stays unlocked until you sign out or hit lock on this device.
3. 3on a new device or browser, enter the same passcode to unlock your messages there.

we can't reset your passcode. if you forget it, you can start over with a new one, but messages from before that can't be read on your side again. a long passcode you don't use anywhere else is the safest choice.

security codes

the shield at the top of a chat shows a security code. you and your friend see the same code, so compare it somewhere outside seized.wtf. if it matches, the chat is really between the two of you. it changes when either of you resets your passcode.

follows show up in the bell, and so does someone following you back. the leaderboard has a board for the most followed pages.
