a color, a gradient, an image or a video behind your page.

in appearance, background. pick one of four types and the controls under it change to match.

gradienttwo colors blended. the default look.
imagean image you upload, covering the screen.
videoa looping video you upload, muted and playing behind the page.

making text readable over media

an image or video almost always needs help before text sits on it well. three controls do that:

  • overlay: a color laid over the media, with its own opacity. a dark overlay at 40 to 60 percent is the usual fix.
  • blur: blurs the media itself, which keeps the colors and loses the detail that competes with your text.
  • position: which part of the image stays in frame on a narrow screen. centre, top, bottom, left or right.

if you would rather not tune this by hand, premium's adaptive contrast adjusts your text color on its own until it is readable.

the banner

the banner is a separate wide image across the top of your card, and it has nothing to do with the background. it can fade into the card at its bottom edge, and round its top corners to match your card radius.

video backgrounds are the heaviest thing you can put on a page. keep them short and small, and remember that some phones will not autoplay them.

still stuck? ask in the discord, someone will know.
